Tonight's PlayStation State of Play comes just a week after Sony revealed several up-and-coming games from Japanese developers, but now it's all about Harry Potter. Hogwarts Legacy finally revealed its secrets during Sony's presentation and even gave us a slightly narrow release window of Holiday Season 2022.
You play as a recently enrolled witch or Wizard at Hogwarts, creating your character from scratch using an extensive character creator. You'll be joining the school far later than most students as you'll enroll as a particularly talented fifth year, but you'll have to play catch up with the many students you'll be learning alongside. After creating your character, you'll be sorted into one of the four houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Then a colorful new cast of professors and instructors will teach you the ins and outs of enchanting, botany, dueling, and more.

Much of Hogwarts will be as you remember it from the movies, with several iconic locations both inside and outside the castle walls. You'll be able to travel quickly between locations once you learn how to use a broom, and there are plenty of secrets to uncover as you explore the Wizarding World.
A world that finds itself in peril. Soon after your studies begin, professor Figg approaches you about a dangerous rumor of a goblin rebellion. The goblins have teamed up with the sinister dark witches and wizards that surround Hogwarts and are plotting to topple the world order.
