Nearly two years removed from its initial announcement, Hogwarts Legacy has finally shown off a preview of its gameplay. Inspired by the Harry Potter novels and their film adaptions, Hogwarts Legacy is taking players to the iconic school of witchcraft and wizardry in the late 19th century. The open world action RPG hopes to realize a dream that many fans have been hoping would come true for years — a game that lets players create their own witch or wizard and explore Hogwarts, take classes, and discover new magic.

An open world Harry Potter game which attempts to give players a genuine experience of being a student at Hogwarts has been something of a white whale for fans, but Hogwarts Legacy appears to be on the right track.
