After a successful launch in Japan, further information has been released about the first Super Nintendo World theme park in the US. As one might expect, this news is exciting for many fans that have been eagerly anticipating when a Nintendo theme park will open in other locations following Super Nintendo World finally opening last year.
Since Super Nintendo World in Japan began welcoming visitors on March 17th, 2021, many US-based gamers have been keen to enjoy Nintendo-related rides and experiences for themselves. Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto gave a tour of the Japanese theme park prior to opening, and it has since been well received by both critics and guests alike.

Universal Studios today announced Super Nintendo World will open in 2023 within a new area of Universal Studios Hollywood, California. Following in the footsteps of the Japanese attraction, the theme park will contain areas featuring popular Nintendo characters, such as Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach, with visitors able to experience Warp Pipes, Piranha Plants, and Bowser’s Castle.
Other areas of the theme park will feature further Nintendo characters, with visitors to the Japanese park enjoying Yoshi’s Adventure and Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge rides, with the latter using augmented reality to display characters and items as you race to get the winner’s trophy. In addition, the Japanese Super Nintendo World confirmed a Donkey Kong expansion recently, which should consist of new roller coasters and interactive experiences.
Universal Studios Hollywood has also confirmed there will be a feature presentation store opening soon containing exclusive Super Nintendo World
