As is the case every month, PlayStation Plus is changing its roster of games in July, giving players a variety of new titles that they can add to their libraries and keep for as long as they're subscribed to the service. PlayStation Plus is divided into three tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium, each with its own specific perks. Recent months have been particularly beneficial to Premium subscribers with the inclusion of more titles from the Classics library, which consists of PlayStation, PS2, and PSP games emulated and given newer features such as Trophies when brought to modern hardware.
Regardless of which tier players are subscribed to, the PlayStation Plus subscription provides access to online play on Sony systems for most titles — although some free-to-play titles such as or don't require this — making it essential for most PlayStation users. For those who don't play multiplayer titles, however, PS Plus is Sony's answer to the Xbox Game Pass, with a catalog of free games that makes the subscription worthwhile, with three monthly titles that can be added and kept while subscribed, and hundreds of others that are on more of a rotating basis.
2024 has only just begun, but the PS5 is already off to an incredible start, delivering a number of must-play titles in a variety of genres.
The official revealed the standard batch of three monthly games for July. These consist of the looter-shooter, EA's latest hockey title,, and Innersloth's deception-based multiplayer title, . Whereas past months have seen some titles only released for PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 titles that were playable on the newer system via backward compatibility, all three of these titles have both a native PS4 and PS5 version for players to download.
