Those who've explored 's base game extensively will recognize the optional Death Rite Bird boss in as a familiar opponent to beat. These huge, ghost flame-wielding creatures are dangerous enemies that can kill your character quickly if you aren't prepared. By understanding the weaknesses of these birds in the Lands Between, you will know how to take down the one that appears in the DLC.
Four different Death Rite Birds exist in the base game and can be found in Academy Gate Town, Caelid, the Mountaintops of the Giants, and the Apostate Derelict areas. The one that appears in 's expansive map is comparable to the strongest version of this creature from the Lands Between. If you've taken one down before, you should already have a grasp on these bosses' traits.
Sites of Grace are places where you can rest in Elden Ring, so you'll want to find each one's location in Shadow of the Erdtree's Gravesite Plain map.
The Death Rite Bird in is located within Charo's Hidden Grave, a hidden area you can only reach by traveling south beyond the larger Gravesite Plain region. Traveling south along the main path from the Shadow Keep will eventually lead you to the Dragon Pit, a dungeon you have to clear to unlock a way forward. Defeating enemies here will eventually lead to a long road toward the imposing Jagged Peak.
Along the way to the Jagged Peak, find the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion by finding the spot where you can learn Ancient Dragon Incantations next to a large dragon's corpse. Climb over the dead dragon and drop to lower ledges, which reveal a new path to an area below. This will eventually lead you to Charo's Hidden Grave in , an area covered in shallow waters and red flowers.
Continuing from the Altar of Dragon Communion will eventually take you to the Foot of the Jagged Peak Grace Site, which is along the path towards another powerful optional boss named Bayle the Dread.
The Death Rite Bird itself is only a short trek northeast from the Charo's Hidden Grave Site
