August brings a new slate of PlayStation Plus titles to the table, with games to look forward to across the Essential, Extra and Premium tiers of the service. As PlayStation's online subscription option, PlayStation Plus pairs multiplayer services and more with access to select digital games for no additional cost. The Essential titles are available to all subscribers and rotate out on a monthly basis, but once they're added to a user's library, they can be accessed with an active subscription beyond that month.
Extra and Premium grants access to a larger library of more permanent titles, which can still be removed from the service but don't leave at regular intervals. Premium also unlocks the Classics Catalog, which adds more games from previous PlayStation systems as opposed to the standard PS4 and PS5 selection, as well as some additional PSVR 2 options and the ability to stream games instead of downloading them. Any tier can be useful for a PlayStation owner, especially those interested in discovering a lot of games that they might not otherwise commit to purchasing.
