The highly anticipated The Plucky Squire has a release date at long last, and it’s not too far away. Developer All Possible Futures and publisher Devolver Digital have announced that the action-adventure title will launch next month, and alongside that news, they’ve also revealed another major tidbit concerning the game’s PlayStation 5 release.
As confirmed on the PlayStation Blog by co-creative director James Turner, The Plucky Squire will be available via the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog at launch. That means those subscribed to PlayStation Plus’ Extra and Premium tiers will be able to access the game without having to buy it on the day of its release.
“We’re also very excited to reveal that The Plucky Squire will be available for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members as part of the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog at launch,” Turner wrote. “So, if you have a membership, you’ll be able to dive right into the game when it releases. We’re looking forward to inviting PlayStation players to the land of Mojo to help Jot embark on his incredible multi-dimensional quest.”
Whether Devolver Digital and All Possible Futures also have plans to release the game for Game Pass day and date remains to be seen, but that hasn’t yet been announced. On PlayStation, however, this will likely ensure the game attracts a larger player base, which can only be good news, especially considering the busy period it’s launching in.
The Plucky Squire releases on September 17 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
