PlayStation's Days of Play sale is expected to return for 2024. A sale typically held to kick off the summer that, unlike the constant cycle of sales you can find on the PlayStation Store, covers more than just games. Yes, certain titles will be heavily discounted, but Days of Play's price reductions affect hardware and PS Plus subscriptions too. When the two-week sale will likely begin and end, as well as some of the better deals it might include, have been shared by a very reliable leaker.
The information comes courtesy of dealabs' billbil-kun. Famous among PlayStation owners for their always-accurate PS Plus leaks, the insiders claims Days of Play will return on May 29 and run through until June 12, its discounts available on both PlayStation Direct as well as other retailers that carry PlayStation games and products. As for what billbil-kun expects to see in the sale, one of the more promising predictions is the return of a heavy discount on PS Plus.
In 2023, PlayStation ran a 25 percent discount on annual subscriptions of PS Plus during Days of Play. The reduced price subscription was available across all three tiers, meaning you could sign up for Essential for an entire year for less than $5 per month. If that deal does return for 2024's Days of Play, it potentially means those of you who grabbed it last year, whose reduced priced subs are presumably about to run out, could re-up your subscriptions for the same reduced price again.
Billbil-kun is also expecting the still relatively new slimmer model of the PS5 to be subjected to a price reduction if and when Days of Play returns. 50 euros off for those of you in Europe, and while the US isn't mentioned, that likely means a $50 price cut for the console stateside too. That would mean the still full price disc drive version of the newest PS5 model would be knocked down to $450, and the digital edition of the console will potentially be on sale for just $400.
Rounding out the hardware predictions is a
