The PlayStation 5 Pro could come with 2TB of storage, according to rumors circulating online.
Speaking during the latest episode of the Broken Silicon podcast, Moore's Law is Dead revealed that they have seen a PS5 Pro devkit and confirmed that it comes with 2TB of storage. While the storage space could be lower for the retail system, the fact that Microsoft is releasing an Xbox Series X with 2TB of storage suggests that Sony could do the same for what is effectively a premium gaming system.
On a related note, the PlayStation 5 Pro is likely to be a quiet console that runs cool. According to Moore's Law is Dead, the devkit uses the same power connector as the base model, meaning Sony is not going to push the system, keeping the same power draw. This, in conjunction with the transistor increase over the base model, should make the system quiet and cool.
The PlayStation 5 Pro has quickly become one of the worst-kept secrets in gaming in 2024. After months of rumors, we ourselves heard from a video game developer that the console will run Unreal Engine 5 better, and multiple reports from other sources essentially confirm the system is real and coming. According to Jeff Grubb, the system is still scheduled for release this year, although the reveal timings are still unknown.
The PlayStation 5 Pro has yet to be officially announced. We will keep you updated on the system as soon as more come in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
