The Pixel 6a and the Nothing Phone (1) are both premium mid-rangers but which of these two smartphones is worth buying? The Pixel 6a was first announced at Google I/O 2022 back in May but has only just became available to order. The phone is a more affordable version of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, albeit one that arrives almost a year after they were launched in 2021.
The Phone (1) is the first smartphone from Nothing and the second product since the company was founded in October 2020. The company has focused on the phone's overall design in order to stand out from the multitudes of phones available on the market. Even though it's not a flagship, it packs some features that are found on higher-priced smartphones.

The two smartphones have strikingly different designs. The Pixel 6a is inspired by its pricier siblings with a centered hole punch on the front and a horizontal camera bar on the back. However, while the front is covered in Gorilla Glass 3, the back is primarily plastic. The Nothing Phone (1)'s screen has a top-left hole punch and while its frame is made of aluminum, its back is see-through, covered in Gorilla Glass 5, and features LED lights. The Pixel 6a is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance and can be purchased in Chalk, Charcoal, and Sage. In contrast, the Nothin Phone (1) has an IP53 rating and is available in Black and White. The Pixel 6a is priced at $449 in the US, €459 in Europe, £399 in the UK, and ₹43,999 in India. Nothing doesn't sell the Phone (1) in the US, but it is available starting from £399 in the UK, €469 in Europe, and ₹31,999 in India.
