Pets Now Available in Diablo 4 with Patch 1.4.2 - Get Your Free Dog!
With the Vessel of Hatred Expansion announcement from Xbox Games Showcase 2024, Pets have officially arrived in Diablo 4 alongside the release of Patch 1.4.2.

Players can acquire the Asheara Pet by completing the Faithful Companion questline in Kyovashad. This questline starts automatically and requires players to approach a Well-Behaved Dog. Reassuring this new companion of their goodness completes the quest, at which point players can venture to their Wardrobe to select their new Pet, Asheara.
Much like in Diablo 3, Pets will pick up currencies and materials for their accompanying adventurer. In Diablo 4, this includes:
- Gold
- Herbs
- Ore
- Gem Fragments
- Crafting Materials
- Forgotten Souls
- Murmuring Obols
- Aberrant Cinders
Pre-purchasing Diablo 4's Vessel of Hatred Expansion grants three additional Pets on purchase, meaning they can be claimed by players before the expansion's October 8th release. These Pets include Alkor the Snow Leopard, Hratli the Canine, and Natalya the Tiger.
