People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals usually focuses its attention on fighting real-world animal abuse, but the organization has occasionally turned its attention toward the video game industry. Digital depictions of animal cruelty have received backlash from PETA, since these interactive activities have the potential to glorify real-world animal abuse. Nintendo title 1-2-Switch was the subject of PETA's wrath, for example, with the group criticizing the title's depiction of cow milking. PETA has also tried to promote animal wellness through the creation of parody games, like How Green Is My Diet?.
