The perception of the player affects how they can level up and find new and meaningful relationships. On certain days, the players will be asked questions based on a variety of topics like ancient Olympians to color theory.

Correctly answering the questions in the classroom not only shows the abilities of the player to his classmates but for each correct answer, they will be rewarded with Intelligence points. These are helpful for building social skills that can be used to form relationships and level up ranks for confidants.
In the original players were able to press the touchpad on the PlayStation 4 controller to see how other players voted on their answers. The majority of the time, the player can select an answer based on the one with the most votes and it would be the correct answer. In the case of the player cannot look up the answers while in-game.
Building up the Intelligence of the player's character is only one of the major social skills the player will have to develop. While it is not required to build social skills in order to progress through the game, a huge chunk of what makes enjoyableis the crafting that comes with these social skills and using them to unlock new conversation chains.
