HoYoVerse is bringing game mechanics to that will be familiar to fans of their other major game,, including individual player weapons. These weapons are not traditional swords or guns, however. Instead, PCs use Light Cones, which are card-like items that bestow passive talents and increase various character stats.
Light Cones in represent a person's memories. Light Cones can be given to any character, but their passive only activates when they share the same Path. They increase HP, ATK, and DEF and can reach Level 80. Similar to 's unique weapons, Light Cones can be ranked 3, 4, or 5 Stars, and their passive can be upgraded by Superimposing duplicates onto the Light Cone.

The main way to collect Light Cones in involves using Warp Banners. Warp Banners are 's mechanism for gacha pulls. Players can spend a Star Rail Pass to pull for a Light Cone or character. By spending ten Star Rail Passes, players are guaranteed a 4-Star Light Cone or character.
There are two permanent banners in. The first, the Departure Warp, is limited to 50 pulls and is designed for new players to collect high-ranking characters quickly. After 50 pulls, players cannot use the banner again. The Standard Warp lets players pull for various 3 and 4-Star items, alongside some of the best 5-Star characters in .
Alongside those banners, there are two banners that are available for a limited time. One banner is a Character Event Warp, increasing the chances to pull three different 4-Star characters and releasing a 5-Star character for a limited time.
