Respawn Entertainment, the developer behind the Titanfall series and the popular battle royale game Apex Legends, has become deeply involved with the Star Wars franchise following the release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The studio is not only working on the game's follow-up but on two other titles based on the franchise, including a single-player first-person shooter that will apparently be influenced by some classic titles.
As spotted by Exputer, some recent job ads shared by Respawn Entertainment on LinkedIn revealed that the yet-to-be-unveiled FPS will be inspired by classic titles like Dark Forces and Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2. The job ad also confirms the game will be built with Unreal Engine 5, which is hardly surprising considering the game is still years away from release.
As mentioned above, the next game based on the popular sci-fi franchise from Respawn Entertainment will be Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order. The second entry in the series will star Cal Kestis once again as he attempts to stay ahead of the Empire's Inquisitors, who are hunting Jedi following Order 66. Being set five years since the previous entry in the series, the new tale will have a darker tone to represent's Cal's hardships better, but it won't be dark just for the sake of being so.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will release on April 28th on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S worldwide. You can learn everything there is to know about Cal Kestis' next adventure by checking out this page.
