Director James Bobin shares a new Percy Jackson and the Olympians image teasing the Camp-Half Blood set for the upcoming Disney+ show. Based on Rick Riordan's best-selling fantasy series, the upcoming adaptation follows the 12-year-old Percy Jackson as he discovers himself to be the son of Poseidon. When the young demigod is accused by Zeus of stealing his lightning bolt, the most powerful weapon in the universe, Percy attempts to clear his name and spare the world from a war between the Olympian gods.
The Adam Project's breakout star Walker Scobell has been cast to lead the Percy Jackson show as the titular teenager alongside Cheaper by the Dozen's Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood, Percy's best friend who is secretly a satyr, and Empire's Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, a daughter of Athena who has already been training at Camp Half-Blood for five years. Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz, who were most recently executive producers on Apple TV's See, serve as showrunners on the Percy Jackson show with each season adapting an installment in the book series. The pilot episode is written by by Riordan and Steinberg with Bobin directing.
