New images from The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power reveal a new look at Celebrimbor, the creator of the three Elven rings, and tease his connection to Sauron. Based on author J. R. R. Tolkien's iconic The Lord of the Rings novels, Prime Video's The Rings of Power will bring audiences back once more to Middle-earth. Taking place in the Second Age, several hundred years before the events of Peter Jackson's beloved trilogy, the upcoming series chronicles the creation of the titular rings of power and the evil brewing deep in Middle-earth.
The trailer for The Rings of Power teases some of what is to come in the new series, including a closer look at both new and returning characters. First seen in Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, characters like Elrond and Galadriel return in the highly-anticipated series, albeit much younger. New Elven, Human, Dwarf, and Hobbit-like characters will also be a main focus. At an estimated $1 billion for 5 seasons, The Rings of Power's budget makes it one of the most expensive series ever made, and it is said to feature epic action, sprawling practical sets, and impressive visual effects, although it remains to be seen how the show compares to Jackson's original trilogy in that regard.
