Pax Dei will enter Early Access this spring, Mainframe Industries announced today. Their cloud-based sandbox also got an Early Access trailer at this morning’s Nvidia presentation, as the game will launch with DLSS 3 support.
The team also released an Early Access FAQ on Discord today following the announcement. No, they haven't announced an Early Access release date because they're focusing on the next Alpha test which they have confirmed is coming this quarter. However, now that the Early Access news is out, they will be sharing more details later because they're still finalizing some of it. The bones of the announcement are that Pax Dei will be playable in Early Access pretty soon, a single purchase price will get you in, and the Mainframe team has also shared reasons why they’re moving ahead this way.
“What we can already indicate at this point is that monetization will take the form of a single purchase granting access to the game for the full duration of Early Access.” As for anything else involved, that’s yet to be revealed.
The first alpha test gota lot of attention and demand, and this served as the first introduction to what their team is making. That response helped them to decide that getting more consistent feedback is going to help them build the game, so going into Early Access is going to allow for that to happen. With the next alpha still on the way, there will be another opportunity to see what the Mainframe team has done in response to feedback and player experiences in that first test and judge whether you want in on helping them on a more consistent basis.
