A new trailer for Palworld shows cute monsters with realistic guns in this dark take on a world Pokémon fans may find familiar. Last year Japanese studio Pocketpair shocked the internet with its first trailer for their upcoming game Palworld, which contains very colorful creatures named Pals. The Japanese developer previously released the early access game Craftopia which has an open-world style often compared to Zelda: Breath of Wild but filled with creatures to tame and a staggering amount of items to craft. Pocketpair's next game looks to borrow more similarities from another massive Nintendo franchise.
Palworld's similarities to Nintendo's world-famous Pokémon series made the game stand out. Both Palworld and the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Arceus looks to put players into intense situations against wild creatures as players explore a vast environment with their own captured creatures. Unlike battles in traditional Pokémon games that often use teamwork, Palworld will have players use their captured creatures for intense manual labor and provide their creatures with assault rifles and explosives.

The second trailer for Palworld, released on Pocketpair's Youtube channel, starts with a relaxing and beautiful world filled with a wide variety of colorful Pals, and things take a sharp turn when the game's Pals start taking up arms and begin blasting away at the game's enemies and other adorable creatures. As reported by Kotaku, the trailer below shows fast-paced third-person combat with Pals using special abilities and weapons like pistols, Gattling guns, and even a bird Pal that acts as a grenade launcher as it shoots explosive eggs from its backside.
