Gravity Rush director Keiichiro Toyama has said he would be interested in making a third Gravity Rush game if the opportunity was offered to him.
Speaking to fan site Gravity Rush Central to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the original game, Toyama was asked if he would like to work on a new Gravity Rush title given the chance.
Toyama, who is now working on Slitterhead with his newly founded Bokeh Game Studio, answered: “There are various things to bear in mind as a start-up, but on a personal level I obviously would like to.
“Even if it wasn’t a new game, if there is any opportunity for me to be involved with anything related, I would be grateful to do so.”
Toyama also confirmed that he would like to see the first two Gravity Rush games on PC, given that Sony is now committed to releasing PC ports of a number of its PlayStation titles.
“I think it would be a good thing to open the game up to more users,” he said. “It would also be wonderful if Gravity Rush 2 ran in 60fps.”
The first Gravity Rush was released on PlayStation Vita in February 2012, and received critical acclaim for its world-twisting mechanics.
The game was remastered on PS4 in 2015, before a PS4 sequel was released in 2017. There have been no further releases in the five years since, however.
Toyama announced in December 2020 that he had departed Sony’s Japan Studio along with Junya Okura, lead designer on the Gravity Rush series, and Kazunobu Sato, lead designer of 2013’s Puppeteer, to form new company Bokeh Game Studio.
The studio’s first game, a horror title called Slitterhead, was revealed at The Game Awards in December 2021.
