The Palia team has been teasing a few upcoming additions recently, including a new character and accompanying story. Subira, a Watcher from the Order, arrives in the most recent update, along with new areas, new furniture, and the ability to sit in chairs
Subira’s arrival comes with a new limited-time questline that adds new narrative content to take on. These quests will be available for a limited time–until the next main storyline chapter–and will be updated over time. Subira’s arrival is deliberately tied to the main story, but as Palia is intended to evolve over time, this makes sense.
“With strange events such as the re-appearance of humans happening in Kilima, the Order has sent a Watcher to investigate things. This is a big moment for all the Kilima villagers!”
The team says that it will be a long time before the next major story update happens and they will give plenty of warning beforehand to make sure you're able to take on all of Subira’s quests. all rewards that come with these quests will still be available through other methods so no one who joins later will have to miss out.
Subira’s friendship quests are, as with other NPCs, separate, so those will always be available.
This update also adds a new furniture set and finally, the ability to sit in chairs and on couches set up on your housing plot. There are additional cooking recipes and the introduction of flow tree groves that will appear on the map once per in-game day. This will allow for consistent flow tree availability and the team considers it their “first take on recurring map-level events”.
Say hello to the Muujin, a new huntable creature that has been added. Found mainly in trees around Bahari Bay, there are three types to keep an eye out for.
