Overwatch 2 Beta finally has opened for PC and console players. The second beta of the upcoming Overwatch game which will replace the six-years old Overwatch Prime can now be played. The biggest attractions of this new beta version are the new map and Junkyard Queen character. The beta will be open till July 18, which gives players three weeks to both check out the new additions and test out the stability of the version. This is also the first time Xbox and PlayStation players get their hands on Overwatch 2. If you are excited about the game and want to play the beta, read on to find out how to do so.
One of the biggest highlights of this Beta version is the Junkyard Queen. She was first teased in 2017 but will make her first appearance now as a tank hero. However, the new character is not a typical tank. Blizzard describes her as an “aggressive tank” who takes the lead instead of staying back. Her ultimate move Rampage also favors this, as she can summon a magnetic field to create a whirlwind that surrounds her weapon. This enables her to inflict damage on anyone she touches while healing her own party. She also adds an anti-healing buff that reduces the effectiveness of any healing for the opponent team.
A brand new map will also greet Overwatch 2 Beta players. A hybrid map called Paraiso has been introduced. It is a story experience map that depicts the Battle of Rio, as Lucio, Tracer, Mei, and Reinhardt fight their way through Null Sector forces. Additionally, in this beta, players will get to play both attack and defense on payload maps and they will get backfills for players who leave mid-match.
