Little information has come out regarding the Pokédex for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, but there are a few overused Pokémon that could use a break from the series. There is a small selection of Pokémon that have appeared in almost every game. By rotating some usual Pokémon out of the new game, it could lead to a more interesting roster.
Some Pokémon, mostly from the first generation, have become very overexposed over the course of the series. Either they appear in too many games, get pushed far too hard, or are generally taking up too much spotlight. When the same Pokémon constantly take up focus, it can keep other Pokémon, most notably newer ones, from having a chance to shine. This has been an issue in both old and new games, but the much wider variety of Pokémon in recent games makes the issue more evident. With Scarlet & Violet's trailer already revealing Pokémon, one has to wonder if the same Pokémon could end up taking center stage again.

It may be a good idea to let a few of the more overused Pokémon sit out the next game. It may be odd for some of the series mainstays to miss an installment, but it could be a chance for the rest of the Pokédex to shine. There are a few Pokémon in particular who may benefit from not being involved in Scarlet & Violet.
