STARZ shares a new cast image to announce the start of filming and production on Outlander season 7. Based on the genre-bending novels by Diana Gabaldon, the series follows the journey of World War II combat nurse Claire Randall (Caitríona Balfe) as she mysteriously is sent back in time to 1743, where she meets Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan). Currently, season 6 of the time-traveling fantasy is premiering on its respective network and streaming services, adapting from the sixth literary novel of Gabaldon's beloved series, A Breath of Snow and Ashes.

On Twitter, STARZ has shared an exclusive behind-the-scenes image to confirm the production of season 7. The social media post reveals the return of the cast, featuring Balfe, Heughan, Sophie Skelton, and Richard Rankin. Rankin, who plays Roger Mackenzie, is seen sporting short hair for the new season, whereas Claire's hair has seemingly grown back. Check out the photo below:

With three more volumes underway for Gabaldon's book series, many fans have wondered whether the historical drama would continue further from season 7. Recently, Balfe had expressed her contentment with concluding the series as it nearly approaches its 10-year anniversary mark. However, Balfe had clarified that the decision would be beyond her pay grade and would ultimately be decided upon by the television network.
