OTT releases: In the absence of many big movie releases on OTT platforms this week, web series took the limelight. There were some highly anticipated titles which debuted this week and were well received by both the audience and critics. Zee5 released Sonali Bendre starrer The Broken News which narrates a dark story of the journalism world. On the other end, Voot released two new web series — the second season of Code M and Cyber Vaar. Udan Patolas also released on Amazon Prime Videos this week as a comedy drama which portrays a group of small town women living in metropolitan cities. Check the full list below.
The web series marks the OTT debut of Sonali Bendre. The series is based on the British drama Press and it follows the life of journalists in and around the newsroom. Apart from Bendre, the series also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Indraneil Sengupta in main roles. The show is available on Zee5 and can be watched in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.
This mini web series is just six episodes long and will fit into your weekend binge perfectly. The comedy drama revolves around modern day women who all belong from small towns try to lead their lives in metropolitan cities of India. The show takes the audience through their daily lives, struggles and emotions. The show casts Joanna Robaczewska, Daniel O'Kane, Taniya Kalra, Apoorva Arora, Sukhmani Sadana and others.
The second season of Code M picks up right where it left off and takes you to Major Monica Mehra, who is looking for a dangerous assassin who attempted to murder the Chief Minister inside an army camp.
