Also known as the Genius Jester, Buggy is one of the most intriguing characters in Eiichiro Oda's One Piece. Introduced at the very beginning of the series during the Orange Town arc, Buggy established himself as a rival to Luffy. Apart from the Straw Hat captain, he was the first person in the story to have a Devil Fruit power. At the same time, his connection to Shanks made him all the more important and, over the years, he has only continued to grow in both power and, more importantly, influence.
After being captured by the Navy, he found himself in one of the World Government's greatest strongholds, Impel Down. There, Buggy strived to escape and when Luffy broke into the prison, he played a massive role in the breakout that occurred shortly after. His connection to the legends of the world of One Piece was soon revealed to everyone and after the Paramount War, Buggy was established as one of the Shichibukai. Despite being nowhere near as strong as an average Shichibukai, Buggy found himself in this great position of power. When the Shichibukai system was abolished, he once again found himself falling upwards and ended up becoming one of the Yonko of the sea.
