Across the entire franchise, from the early days in the late 90s, right up to the modern Bethesda takes, Fallout: New Vegas is one that many fondly recall when talking about the series. With Todd Howard now confirming that Fallout 5 is coming, though probably not for many years, fans will be excited about the chance to step into the shoes of the Vault dweller once more. In the meantime, however, there are ample opportunities to modify the current installments, which can even turn them into horror experiences.
Over on Nexus Mods, as seen by PCGamesN, a number of modders have created a resource that other players can use to turn Fallout: New Vegas into something much creepier. Specifically, the tool allows fans to make their own The Backrooms experience, with the mod featuring the signature yellow wall, ceiling, and floor tiles that many will recognize from the horror game based on the creepypasta. Whether the modders will implement additional assets, such as monsters, remains to be seen. At least for now, players can build their own unsettling corridors.

For those who aren't aware, The Backrooms is a horror game sensation popularized by YouTubers such as Markiplier. While there are numerous iterations of it, there is a free version that players can download from Steam. Essentially, each game takes place in a liminal space between worlds, a kind of purgatory. The horror comes from the expansive, dingy yellow corridors that seem to stretch on forever. Add to that the atmospheric sounds and the sensation that something is stalking the player, and it makes for a rather frightening experience.
