One of the most beloved horror games on Steam is finally creeping its way onto consoles after four years as a PC exclusive and it's arriving just in time. Over the last few years, one of the most popular genres emerging among co-op games is survival horror, and while may be the reigning champion of asymmetrical multiplayer, ghost-hunting titles have taken off in their own right. Handled correctly, there's nothing more fun than skulking around an abandoned cabin in the woods trying to avoid whatever phantom haunts the basement.
Fortunately for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S owners, they'll soon be able to experience those thrills and chills as an official developer update on Steam confirms that is coming to consoles. Developer Kinetic Games revealed that it's working closely with Unity to ensure that when the notoriously janky game does arrive on consoles, it'll be properly optimized for the systems and should hopefully play like a dream. The best part is that the PS5 and Xbox launch isn't too far off: 's console port arrives in time for the game's ever-popular Halloween event.

As exciting as it may be for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players to finally have access to, the console version will launch with one major absence: Voice Recognition. One of the hallmarks of the game is the ability to ask ghosts questions as a means to identify the entity; this is accomplished by users simply speaking into their microphones but that apparently won't be feasible on consoles just yet. Kinetic Games states that console players will need to use text input to communicate with ghosts but Voice Recognition will eventually be added to the game.
