One of the biggest questlines in the game is related to the Mages Guild, where your hero learns and develops their magic skills through a variety of activities. This adventure involves a disgraced mage, a mysterious book, and an important choice. Notably, it is separated into two missions in your log, Fingers of the Mountain Part One and Fingers of the Mountain Part Two.
At one point during the Mages Guild questline, you will be told to get a series of recommendations to become a full guild member.
The Chorrol Recommendation is begun by making your way to the Mages Guild building in Chorrol. Once inside, speak with Teekeeus. At first, he will deny your request for a recommendation, so pick the option to speak about Earana. Teekeeus will then ask you to talk with this disgraced mage, thus beginning the Fingers of the Mountain questline.
Earana can be located either in the streets outside the Mages Guild building or in the Gray Mare in town. When you have located Earana, she will ask you to find a book, mysteriously named Fingers of the Mountain. To progress this quest, agree to find the book. She will give you some directions and send you on your way.
