New images of the highly-anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series reveal the titular star's new blue Tatooine disguise. Originally announced in 2019, the upcoming show is finally set to debut on Disney+ on May 27, 2022. Mandalorian veteran Deborah Chow has been tapped to direct all six episodes of the series with King Arthur: Legend of the Sword writer Joby Harold penning the series as well as serving as showrunner.
Set 10 years after the fall of the Republic in Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith, the new series aims to fill the gap leading to Star Wars: A New Hope. Ewan McGregor returns to the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi as one of the few remaining Jedi in the galaxy. He remains hidden, living in exile, and watching over a young Luke Skywalker from afar as Uncle Owen (Joel Edgerton) and Aunt Beru (Bonnie Piesse) raise the future Jedi. During this time, Darth Vader has enlisted his personal squad of dark force users called the Inquisitors to hunt down and kill the remaining Jedi survivors. Kenobi must do what he can to disguise himself and protect young Luke.
