Obi-Wan Kenobi's director has a coy response when asked about Liam Neeson returning as Qui-Gon Jinn in the upcoming Disney+ Star Wars show. Neeson was first introduced to the Star Wars universe alongside Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi over 20 years ago when Star Wars: Episode I- The Phantom Menace hit theaters. George Lucas' Star Wars prequels have received a lot of hate over the years, yet Neeson's Qui-Gon Jinn and McGregor's young version of Obi-Wan are considered two highlights in the trilogy.
While Neeson's character was killed by Darth Maul in the first prequel, McGregor went on to have a starring role in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith alongside Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker. Christensen and McGregor last appeared on screen together 17 years ago in Episode III, and both are slated to return in Obi-Wan Kenobi. While Darth Vader has been used to promote the Disney+ original series, it's expected that the show will include more surprise characters throughout its six episodes. One character heavily rumored to appear is Qui-Gon Jinn, whose return was teased in Revenge of the Sith all the way back in 2005.
