The NVIDIA DLSS SDK was recently updated to version 3.1.13, introducing some changes that are set to expand the visual options of games that implement NVIDIA's technology with a Performance Quality mode.
The new update, which can be found on GitHub, introduces a significant change for DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing), as it has been added as Performance Quality mode, essentially allowing users to set it like any regular DLSS quality level, which could make it easier for developers to implement it. DLAA is essentially DLSS without upscaling, something that limits its usage to titles that do not need upscaling to run at higher framerates on non-top-end hardware.
Interestingly enough, the NVIDIA DLSS SDK 3.1.13 also introduces a new preset labeled as G. Unfortunately, this preset is going to remain unused for the time being, so no additional detail is available on it, making its inclusion a weird one. Alongside the DLAA change and the new G preset, the new update also brings some unspecified bug fixes and improvements.
Since the release of its second version, NVIDIA DLSS has been making some incredible strides, setting itself apart with some unique features. NVIDIA DLSS 3, which features Frame Generation, is proving to be a game-changer in graphically intense games such as Cyberpunk 2077, and more and more games will implement the technology in the future. Among the upcoming games that will support Frame Generation is Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which is launching on PC over two years after its PlayStation 5 release on July 26th.
