It should come as little surprise, but the disappointing launch state of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 didn't stop it from being the best-selling game of November in the USA. New data from Circana confirms the FPS topped the charts last month and instantly become the second best-selling title of 2023, just behind Hogwarts Legacy. Interest in the latest entry made the overall Call of Duty series the second-most-played game on PS5 in November, though Fortnite did claim first place.
This result means a Call of Duty game has topped the USA sales charts in the month of November five years in a row; only Red Dead Redemption 2 managed to outsell it in 2018.
Elsewhere, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was the country's second-best-selling game for November, and Hogwarts Legacy surged into third off the back of its Nintendo Switch launch. New entries included Star Ocean: The Second Story R in 17th and Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections claiming 12th.
As for console sales in the USA, the PS5 was once again the best-selling system in terms of both units and dollar sales. The Nintendo Switch was second across both metrics, and then the Xbox Series X|S machines took third.
