Sometimes a gaming character is played by the original voice actor in an adaptation. Other times, a whole new actor is brought in. Then there are the much stranger times when the original actor will portray the new actor’s version of their original character. Confused yet? Well, that's exactly what is happening with the upcoming audiobook for Sony’s Uncharted film.
Variety is reporting that Nolan North, the voice actor behind Nathan Drake in all of the Uncharted video games, will once again voice the treasure hunter in the audiobook for the novel of the movie. In fact, the voice actor will be handling all the characters in the film as he reads through the book.

It's quite mind-bending to know he will be voicing Tom Holland’s version of the character that is based on the character he has voiced for so many years and made iconic. Speaking to Variety, North talked about how he tackled such a feat saying, “I got to do Antonio Banderas, a little bit of a Mark Wahlberg and put on my own Boston accent a little bit… and then Nathan Drake. I didn’t do Tom Holland, though. I kind of just did me. I tried to young him up a little bit.”
The book, titled “Uncharted: The Official Movie Novelization” is being released by Penguin Random House Publishing. S.D. Perry, an author known for his horror video game novelizations like Alien and Resident Evil, will be writing the film's novelization. It will hit shelves on February 22, just a few days after the film’s release.
