According to Blizzard, name reservations prior to the launch of Season of Discovery are not planned. Unlike during Classic's and Season of Mastery's launch back in 2019 and 2021, players won't be able to reserve their favorite name in advance this time around.

According to Senior Game Producer Josh Greenfield, Blizzard has «good reasons» not to do name reservations:
