Nivalis is a cyberpunk slice of life RPG coming out in 2025
ION Lands has announced that Nivalis, the cyberpunk slice-of-life RPG, is slated for release in Spring 2025. Set in the same universe as the developer’s prior title, Cloudpunk, the game shifts from a neon-noir detective and delivery story to an open-world RPG, with the primary goal of establishing a thriving hospitality business.
In Nivalis, you begin with a small business, such as a noodle stand or a small nightclub. Your goal is to grow from these modest origins into a huge enterprise that Nivalis’ citizens will rave about and want to spend their time and money at. However, there’s more to Nivalis than just building up a business. You can get to know some of the city’s inhabitants, go fishing, or just dedicate time to home decoration. Delving into the underworld of Nivalis is also an option, but details on what that would entail have not been given.
In our Cloudpunk review, Gareth said, “Cloudpunk delivers the look and feel of a cyberpunk city, it just doesn’t fill the city with anything of interest. The story is okay and there’s some side conversations to keep you amused, but once the novelty of driving around Nivalis wears off, you’ll recognise that this is a game made entirely of fetch quests. The city looks gorgeous, it’s just a shame it doesn’t have more attractions.”
