Few will be surprised to learn that Nintendo is planning to release a limited-edition Switch console ahead of the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom(Opens in a new window).
To give it its full title, the Nintendo Switch OLED Model The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Edition will launch on April 28, where as the game won't be available until May 12. The console's docking station will be white with a gold Tri-Force design printed on it. The Joy-Cons are gold with a green and white patterns (on the left and right Joy-Cons respectively).
The limited-edition Switch was revealed at the end of today's Tears of the Kingdom gameplay presentation, which you can watch above.
As VGC reports(Opens in a new window), the console is expected to retail for $359.99(Opens in a new window), but there will also be a Tears of the Kingdom Pro Controller for $74.99(Opens in a new window), and a carrying case for $24.99(Opens in a new window), both of which are scheduled for release in May. Nintendo decided Tears of the Kingdom will be the first Switch game it sells for $70, so purchasing all the above along with the game will cost a total of just under $530.
Seeing as the hybrid console is now six years old, this could end up being the only Switch Zelda game Nintendo prices at $70 as the company must surely be thinking about a new console before Link's next adventure is ready for release.
