It’s the crossover that no one expected. The goat from Goat Simulator and the sheep from Settlers of Catan are swapping places today to celebrate April Fool’s Day with an extremely unusual promotion. On top of that, Goat Simulator 3 is changing its name to Sheep Simulator 3 as it welcomes Catan’s lost sheep.
"Catan’s beloved sheep was reported missing yesterday by publishers of the Catan original board game and Catan on Board Game Arena after she mysteriously wandered off from her post on the iconic (and vital) Catan resource card," reads the statement from Coffee Stain, the publisher of Goat Simulator 3. According to them, Catan’s sheep have settled in San Angora and are having a lovely time tormenting the townsfolk with their physics-defying antics.

Meanwhile, Pilgor the goat has relocated to the island of Catan where he’ll fulfill the role vacated by the vacationing sheep. Instead of the iconic sheep, you'll see Pilgor on the front and back of every card drawn for Board Game Arena's version of Catan. He won't get up to the same mayhem as he does in Goat Simulator, but his mere presence in such a placid game is probably mayhem enough.
"We couldn't be happier to welcome Catan’s sheep to San Angora," said Coffee Stain North creative director Santiago Ferrero. "Sheep are basically fluffier goats at the end of the day so we know she’ll fit right in. The island could also use a break from the troublesome Pilgor who we’ve managed to offload for a while to Catan to fill in as their resource goat. Since she’s technically 32 in goat years it’s high time she tried her hooves at a proper job!"
