After a long wait, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have got their first look at the much-awaited series Secret Invasion. It brings Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury back to Earth, in what seems to be a thrilling ride as he prepares to go to war. The action-packed trailer was revealed as part of Saturday’s D23 Expo, a joint panel for Lucasfilm, Marvel Studios, and 20th Century Studios.
The Secret Invasion trailer offers a look at why Fury decided to return, after having missed out on a lot of action that took place on the planet. Apart from Jackson, the trailer of the highly-anticipated Marvel series features some of the other returning cast members, including Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos, Martin Freeman’s Everett K. Ross, and Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill. The video also offers fans the first look at Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman’s characters, which is bound to leave fans of the actors in awe of their versatility.

A conversation between Fury and Hill reveals that he has returned for a grave cause, which is “different” from all the scenarios that Hill had tried to reach out to him over the past year. Fury then approaches Don Cheadle’s Colonel James Rhodes, a.k.a War Machine, to discuss his security detail. He obviously has some concerns over the Skrull invasion, considering one of them has been impersonating Fury for quite some time now. He seemingly teams up with Talos to deal with what’s to come, and this time around, things don’t seem to be easy for the heroes to deal with.
