Sonic Prime was just revealed yesterday at the end of a two-minute trailer showcasing all the new animated shows coming to Netflix (and a few that have already arrived). Not only was this the first time we got to see the new Blue Blur in action, but it was also the first time we got to hear who will voice Sonic in the show.
If you couldn’t quite identify Sonic’s voice yesterday, that’s because he’s totally new. Canadian voice actor Deven Mack introduced himself as the voice of the legendary hedgehog on Twitter yesterday shortly after the trailer went live.

"I'll join the ranks of some amazing talents who have and will still be performing this legendary character in the video games and movies, so I like it to be perfectly clear that they ain't going anywhere, and I wouldn't have it any other way," Mack said. "They've been doing amazing work for years that I legit can't wait to hear more of.
"It's been an incredible blessing, it's been an honor, and it's been a little scary all at the same time. I say that because I understand just how much these characters mean to so many people, and it's a whole lot to live up to."
Mack goes on to admit that he was "much more of a Tails personality" growing up, always the studious and shy kid. And while he never played the original Sonic games, he did look up to Sonic thanks to the cartoons.
Mack has received a warm welcome from both Sonic Fans and Sonic's video game voice actor, Robert Craig Smith. "Confirmed! Welcome @DevenOClock to the wild little family of talking blue hedgehogs," the voice actor wrote alongside many fans on Twitter providing their own welcome messages.
