Star Wars and Marvel Comics have just announced Obi-Wan, a new comic series that will explore key moments from the iconic Jedi Master's life in the Star Wars galaxy. One of the most beloved and important characters in the galaxy far, far away, Obi-Wan Kenobi was instrumental in bringing a new hope to the galaxy after his fallen apprentice plunged it into darkness when Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader. Now, this new series will see Kenobi reflecting on his life while in exile on Tatooine, including his earliest days as a young Padawan.
Apprenticed to Qui-Gon Jinn before becoming the master of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of Star Wars' most popular Jedi, serving as an unrelenting source of resilience throughout the dark times he lived through such as the Clone Wars and the rise of the Empire. The framing device for the series sees Obi-Wan living as a hermit on Tatooine to watch over young Luke Skywalker just weeks before A New Hope begins. Sensing things are about to dramatically change, this new series will see Kenobi looking back and writing in his journals, which Luke would inherit and learn from as seen in Jason Aaron's Star Wars 2015 comic series.
