Marvel has released a special look at a slew of new toys tying in with the release of Thor: Love & Thunder, one of which appears to feature a reassembled version of Thor's hammer, Mjölnir. As a key figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thor hasn't been seen in a solo venture since Thor: Ragnarok in 2017. Before that, he faced off against a battalion of evil space elves in Thor: The Dark World in 2013. Thor is portrayed by Chris Hemsworth, the Australian actor who broke out as a worldwide superstar with his debut appearance as the titular character in 2011's Thor.
The fourth film in Thor's solo franchise will see the return of Natalie Portman's Jane Foster, who hasn't appeared since 2013's poorly received sequel (not including her blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in Avengers: Endgame). The new film is set to adapt the famous comic storyline, The Mighty Thor, started by writer Jason Aaron in 2014. In it, Jane is battling breast cancer when she is deemed worthy and ends up wielding Mjölnir to become a new version of the superhero, the goddess of thunder, The Mighty Thor. Thor: Ragnarok pitted Hemsworth's Thor against his own sister, the villainous goddess of Hell, aptly named Hela, played by Cate Blanchett. In their first confrontation, Hela destroys Mjölnir when he hurls it at her, and she stops it with her bare hand.
