New Assets Could Point To Resident Evil Outbreak And Code: Veronica Remasters

The Resident Evil History page has been updated with brand new, higher resolution artwork of Outbreak, Outbreak File 2, and Code: Veronica, pointing to potential remasters. Dataminers even found updated textures for models such as dogs and alligators.

Leaks and rumours have been circulating for years now about a Resident Evil 4 remake, but fans have also been asking for Code: Veronica to continue Claire and Chris Redfield's story. If you played 2's remake, you'll know that Claire shows up in Raccoon City looking for her brother Chris only to find a note that says he's gone to Europe. He hasn't. In fact, he's on an island dealing with Albert Wesker and other Umbrella nonsense. Cue Code: Veronica.

Aside from Code: Veronica, plenty are asking for Dino Crisis, but, despite being more obscure, Outbreak has been on the tip of people's tongues. Taking place at the same time as 2 and 3, Outbreak shows us eight different characters' journeys in Raccoon City amidst the outbreak. It's even multiplayer with online features. However, it has since been contradicted by other games and media, leaving it in the realm of non-canon. It's still good fun, though.

Capcom has been trying to tap into Resident Evil's multiplayer potential for a long time now. The main games even diverted into co-op with 5 and 6 while 3's remake launched alongside an online spin-off called Resistance. Village was set to do the same with RE:Verse, but that has been delayed to some time this year.

If RE:Verse doesn't meet expectations much as Resistance didn't, perhaps tapping into the nostalgia goldmine and pulling back a cult classic PS2 game would work. If the updated
