Disney's Encanto was once a very different animated story, and a timeframe change became a significant alteration for the Madrigal family. Encanto isn't like Disney's other animated films. The wildly popular movie ditches quest film tropes to focus on one location and the magical Madrigal family. In the movie, most of the Madrigal family members get magical powers to help their little village. The house is just as much of a character as the magical Madrigal family members, and it also serves as a barometer for how the family is doing. As the family falls apart in the film, Casita literally falls apart. However, Mirabel leads the construction of a new Casita in the end, reuniting the Madrigals with their magical house.
