The world of Elden Ring is a vast expanse filled with tons of enemies and beautiful environments. However, traveling Elden Ring's world is simple enough as just walking or running will eventually lead to somewhere. On top of that, tarnished are gifted a trusty steed to help them traverse the world and fight enemies.
As players go through the world fighting enemies and bosses, things open up, and travel can become less about the journey and more about instant fast travel. This action becomes possible upon reaching one of the many sites of grace located around the world. After activating a site, its location is found on the map with a golden circle and can be fast traveled to with ease. The only stipulation in order to use them is reaching them first. This can seem like a headache for players rushing through the game unless using Elden Ring's floating torrent technique. However, there are ways to get to the far reaches of the world without initially getting to the area, one of which is portals.

The Belfries Portals in Elden Ring are located in Lunia of lakes which serves as a sort of hub or crossroads to the gates. The portals can be found at three of the Belfries, and they can be used to warp to an entirely different area, some of which couldn't be reached before. These gates do need an imbued sword key in order to be unlocked. One of the four Belfries, the one at the highest peak, has one of these very keys in a chest. The other three have waygates that take players to three set locations.
Starting with the first Belfries, the waygate here requires Elden Ring's imbued sword key, and it takes players to the Chapel of Anticipation, which is the first area of the game
