Netflix releases a new trailer for the upcoming crime drama, Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area. Based on the acclaimed Spanish series of the same name, the Korean iteration is penned by Ryu Yong-jae, a long-time fan of the original. Helmed by Kim Hong-sun, Money Heist: Korea takes place following the tentative economic reunification of the North and South. Led by the criminal mastermind The Professor (played by Yoo Ji-tae), a group of thieves plan an ambitious scheme to steal the freshly minted currency.
The new trailer unveiled by Netflix introduces the group of misfits responsible. Taking up arms and donning masks and red jumpsuits, the group prepares for what The Professor describes as “the single largest money heist.” Check out the trailer for Money Heist: Korea–Joint Economic Area below:

Produced by BH Entertainment and Zium Content, the new Korean series comes as Netflix attempts to mitigate the loss of 200,000 subscribers. Hoping to mirror the success of one of its most popular series to date, Squid Game, the upcoming show features Park Hae-soo, one of the biggest stars of the award-winning series. Joining him in the cast of Money Heist: Korea are Kim Yun-jin, Jeon Jong-seo, Lee Won-jong, Park Myung-hoon, Kim Sung-oh, Jang Yoon-ju, Lee Joo-bin, Lee Hyun-woo, Kim Ji-hoon, and Lee Kyu-ho. Though it's hard to know now how the new series will stack up against the original, hopefully, it serves as an exciting continuation of the franchise.
