To say that fans of Berserkare excited for the month of June would be an understatement. It was not that long ago that those same fans were in mourning upon the sudden news that Berserk creator Kentaro Miura had passed away during the summer of 2021 at the age of 54 as a result of heart complications. Fans naturally accepted that the tragic death of its author also signaled the death of Berserk as an ongoing manga.
Keeping this in mind, readers around the world accepted that Chapter 364 would be Berserk's final chapter once it was released last September. It certainly seemed as if that would be the case considering that the Berserk news cycle was quiet from then onwards. Then, miraculously, Young Animal announced that through the guidance of Miura's lifelong friend, Kouji Mori, and Miura's production house, Studio Gaga, Berserk will be returning this summer with six brand new chapters. Although Miura did not leave behind a rough draft for anything after Chapter 364, he did discuss the plans he had with the collaborators and friends who will be continuing the story moving forward. Understandably so, fans continue to rejoice in excitement ever since the announcement.
