Netflix has released the official trailer for its upcoming Resident Evil TV series, which is viewable below.
It has also revealed an official poster for the show featuring a Licker.
Resident Evil will debut on the streaming platform on July 14.
“When the Wesker kids move to New Raccoon City, the secrets they uncover might just be the end of everything,” Netflix said when it announced the series in 2020.
It said the season would consist of eight one-hour episodes, helmed by Andrew Dabb (Supernatural), with Bronwen Hughes (The Walking Dead, The Journey Is the Destination) directing the first two episodes.
The Hollywood Reporter has claimed the Netflix series will tell its story across two timelines. “In the first, 14-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker are moved to New Raccoon City. A manufactured, corporate town, forced on them right as adolescence is in full swing.
“But the more time they spend there, the more they come to realize that the town is more than it seems and their father may be concealing dark secrets. Secrets that could destroy the world.”
The second timeline will reportedly take place more than a decade into the future when “less than 15 million people are left on Earth. And more than 6 billion monsters — people and animals infected with the T-virus.”
Publisher Capcom announced a Resident Evil 4 remake last week.
It will be released on March 24, 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam. The game will also support PlayStation VR2.
