Netflix not loading? You were not alone! Several users across the globe faces issues while cozying for their Netflix sessions on Friday night. Netflix subscribers have been unable to stream their shows and movies, and in the late hours July 15, several users were unable to access their content. Downdetector showed massive spikes in user complaints from around the world. However, Netflix swung into action and the matter was resolved in less than two hours.
There were thousands of reports of an outage from countries including the United States, France and India on Downdetector. The streaming service, which last reported 220 million subscribers last in March 2022, was later fixed and is currently working without any issues for its subscribers.
Some disappointed Netflix users took to Twitter to express their sadness about the outage, most of them complaining about how the outage spoiled their Friday night binge plans. "Friday Night and @netflix is down! How's your Friday Night going?", one user tweeted.
Later, it was found that the outage was mainly done due to an outage at Amazon. com's cloud services unit, which had also temporarily knocked out Netflix's services in December 2021. The incident had also impacted Walt Disney's Disney+, Robinhood, a wide range of apps and Amazon.com Inc's e-commerce website. Separately, Block Inc's Square was also facing issues, according to the outage-tracking website.
Prior to the Netflix outage, several of Meta’s social media apps faced outages on Thursday. It was said that social media apps such as Twitter and Instagram faced outages. Twitter was reportedly down for three hours. Same was the case for Instagram, which was quickly fixed.
