Author Neil Gaiman has taken to Twitter to provide fans with an update about the progress of Amazon Prime Video’s adaptation of Anansi Boys. Based on the bestselling 2005 novel of the same name, the series follows the twin sons of the Ghanaian trickster god Anansi, or Mr Nancy. While not directly connected with the American Gods series, the character of Mr. Nancy did appear in that particular adaptation played by Orlando Jones. In Anansi Boys, the trickster god’s role is slated to be played by Delroy Lindo.
Most recently, Gaiman was asked by a fan on Twitter whether the Anansi Boys series has an expected air date. The author replied stating that the show only finished shooting at the end of May, and that it would take “almost a year” to complete editing and visual effects on the finished product. Once that was complete, Gaiman suggested it would then be up to Prime Video to determine a final Anansi Boys release date. Check out his original post below.
